Our customer journey usually revolves around three sequential steps, starting with a strategy workshop, where we discuss with our client’s decision makers how to reach organizational goals through data-driven methods. These might include, but are not limited to, optimizing sales channels, reducing risk exposure or competitor analysis. In these workshops, we usually define 1-3 key goals for which PeakData then develops proof-of-concepts. These PoC’s are crucial, since they allow to explore the feasibility of a project at low risk for failure. Furthermore, they allow to estimate the return-on-investment (ROI) of implementing a full solution out of a PoC later on. The last step is the implementation and subsequent lifecycle management of full projects resulting out of PoC’s.

Data Science projects are a special case of IT projects: Their outcome can usually not be guaranteed. Before assessing the predictive power of data, it is not clear how well a given Data Science Problem can be solved. Therefore, it is crucial to establish a proof-of-concept before actually engaging into a full Data Science project.

PoC’s are developed for each Action Items prioritized in preceding Strategy Workshops. In case you already have Action Items in mind without involving us in a Strategy Workshop, you can anyway use our expertise and resources to develop an actual PoC.

Besides testing the predictive power of data for a full project, a PoC also gives you insight into working with us without long-term commitment.

The deliverable of a PoC is a web platform that envelopes a prediction model or BI tool to be prototyped. Additionally, you can choose your PoC to come with crowdsourcing extensions, that allow you to spec out the needs of the target user base directly. These specs ensure, that the actual users of a system are in the loop and that their feedback is heard in a follow-up project by design.

Once the feasibility of a project has been established, we develop projects guided by your specs in an iterative fashion. By following an agile approach with iterations/sprints that last no more than a few weeks, you can influence the development of your solution with short latency. At the end of each sprint, your solution is installed in a test-environment, such that you can see where we stand. Finally, the solution is deployed in a production environment - depending on your internal compliance requirements, you will not need to involve your IT department at all.

One of the biggest hospitals of Switzerland was interested to explore an option to identify patients eligible for clinical trials through social media channels. Together we built an online platform that is automatically analyzing social media where people discuss their conditions and identifies potential candidates based on the self reported conditions.

The platform is providing cumulative information about the patients in different geographical areas and identifies hubs of eligible patients.

The platform is based on public, anonymous data. It fully complies with the Swiss data protection regulation and with GDPR
